Want to weave/braid ribbons into my updo

Hi all,

If anyone can help me, I will be very grateful.  I am getting married May 12th, evening formal, outside.  I have a traditional A-line Ivory dress and I would like to do a Victorian/Medieval design in my hair incorporating a thick ribbon woven or braided into my hair.  The picture I have in mind is the Ladies in waiting to Queen Elizabeth I in the movie Elizabeth.    I have searched the internet high and low for pics and can't find any examples.  Anyone have any ideas or links they can provide?  My hair is not long, it is shoulder length, so the amount of "braiding/weaving" I can do will be basic.
