My 8 month old son's hair is dry. I have been using baby oil, but want to try something different to moisturize his har. I don't want anything too heavy (like creams) that will weigh his hair down and would like something as natural as possible. What are you using on your babies' hair or what would you suggest?

Johnson and Johsnon No More Tears spray is a very light leave in conditioner that I'd feel comfortable using on a baby (as opposed to most commercial products). My daughter's hair isn't dry and doesn't require any extra moisture, but if it were, I'd use that. I've used it myself and it's quite pleasant.

Hi all!  Im visiting from one of the other boards, and decided to add my little input here.

When I read that you put baby oil in his hair I shrieked! lol

Baby oil, believe it or not, does not moisturize hair... it dries it out!

For instance,

My mother put baby oil in my sister's (who's four years older than me) hair when she was a baby and her "soft baby hair" didn't last long.  It dried out and napped up quickly.

But by the time she had me, someone told her not to use baby oil but baby lotion (Johnson & Johnson).  My "soft baby hair" lasted longer.  Until I was about 4 yrs. of age.

So I would definitely say there is a major difference in the two.  Whatever you do, don't use baby oil again.

Please whatever you do, do not use baby oil.  I used it and it totally dried out my baby's hair.  My beautician said that it is not a moisturizer and strips the baby's natural curly hair.  I use Designer Touch grocomplex 2000 and it works miracles, my beautician recommended it.  Hope that helps.
