After doing lots of reading, I went also to the black hair board to gather info on wefts. I have not heard very good things. This dissapoints me, as I have wawa wave (2 wefts) and liquid gold shampoo, glue, and remover (and acetone).

I was hoping to put some wefts in with the LG but now am terrified it will make me loose my real hair in patches where the weft is applied. Am I being paranoid?

Has anyone had successful results, or do I need to stick with open ended braids?

 Here's an idea... Make a row/base with shrinkies or tubes. Use lightweight(but durable) thread and a "C" shaped upholstry needle and sew into the base. It's a simple half hitch stitch through each linked section. I stitch twice through each section for security.

Yeah, I've glued wefts before, in a bind. Just be gentle! Especially when taking them down!

I'm planning on sewing an AD weft(the one with the crazy pattern) soon. I'll be using the above method, since you obviously can't do strand by strand of any method.

shadow. Ive done bonded wefts for years without any hairloss and minimal damage if any. But I wouldnt say that glue of any kind is a safe or totally non damaging method for some hair types. I do believe that most people get damage from the removal process. If you are impatient or careless then yes....you will pull out hair.

I will say that LG is the strongest holding glue that Ive used but also the most time consuming to remove (especially if doing the sandwiching technique) I think Chrissyv glue is a better glue in the long run. I dont think its quite as strong (almost), but sooo easy to remove. But its also much more expensive than LG and you may have to have a cos. license to buy it.

lol... DONT yank on them and spend about an hour or 2 removing them being very cautious and you will be just fine. Yes they may damage your hair a tiny bit, but dying your hair is like 20X worse than any type of extensions!

Shadow... Here' how I was taught secure loc malaysian:

First, Create your base. In this pic I used shrinks, cut in 1/2 and tubes...just to show you can use either

Secure the ends down well by doing several half hitches. (This goes for both ends) 

You will thread your stitch through the shrink/tube section.

This move secures the stitch: pass the needle through the "loop", then cross the thread making an "X' and double back through. Pull taught. I do 2-3 stitches per tube/shrink secton.Remember to keep tension as you go.

Here's an example of the finished weave.

Most definately! I just wish my stitches were a bit more consistent...they're great at about the ear, but then I got sloppy and only went through once toward the end...its definately looser b/c of that.Oh yeah...let me get the microillusion pix a bit clearer, too

Hi Gina!  That looks great!  Thanks for sharing!  My only concern is, the hair in the shrinkies is such a small amount, do you think the weft sewn on top of that would cause tension?

Hmmm...it's possible. I would reccomend thin micro wefts and a more lightweight thread than what I used in the pix (It showed up well) The sections aren't that small on a real head. Chris H has done a few on her clients...maybe she can chime in or I guess I'll be my guinea pig and find out!

oooh I'm in process of sewing on wefts right now.  I was using docs track method but this could be even faster.  I kept getting the hair going the same direction instead of crossing.  But I can't half hitch very well on my own head.  And my husband turns out to be useless in this effort.  So far they fell pretty secure with my creative sewing though.  and very flat compared with what I've seen of braided tracks.

sugaplum Gina is sewing the wefts on, no glue involved. This topic just veered in a different direction.....we do that alot around here! hehehe

Oh ... I like this method.
