What are your opinions on wearing skirts or dresses over pants?

I think this style is really cute WHEN IT MATCHES! But I see plenty of girls around wearing a camo skirt over jeans with a bright pink t-shirt over. It just looks mismatched. On the other hand, those who can coordinate their outfits properly I think look cute and stylish. It's also a great way to show off skirts during the winter months.

I dont think that skirts with pants under are cute but I think that mini skirts with long leggings on under are way cute. But I think all skirts should definatly not be worn with pants under, if you wear a skirt show off ur legs, if you dont have nice legs dont wear a skirt.

I don't really like it. Not only do few people pull off the look, but it looks like the person is homeless and has to wear all her clothing on her body because there is no other place to store it.

I think it would depend on the pants. I think jeans or big, baggy pants underneath looks a bit weird, but if they're nice, non-denim, well-fitting pants, it's not so bad.

yes...yes it is. i just dont understand what the point of it would be..wear one or the other. anyway--didnt this style go out years ago? I havnt seen it since like 1997. But I will say that I LOVE it when someone has a really cute tunic type shirt over some jeans... thats the only way to pull it off though...

Well, there would be a point to it for me, since I'm not a very ladylike sitter, and it's hard for me to sit comfortably in a skirt without showing my panties :-P . But I solved that problem years ago just by stopping wearing skirts. *shrugs* My bum is too huge to look all right in skirts, anyway-- they come way up in the back :-P .
I've actually never seen anyone wear a skirt over pants here, that I can recall, so maybe it never caught on here. I've seen it in pics and stuff, though, as recently as from summer, so some people do still wear it. It can be cute, if done right. It's just tricky to do right, I guess.
Ugh, tunic tops. . . I hate those in all forms, no matter what they're worn with :-P . I used to wear them long ago, until I noticed how fat they make me look. I have a small waist in proportion to my hips, so I look thinner wearing shirts tucked in. I imagine most women would, unless they just don't have a defined waist at all.

Hi Hi:

I like wearing both. Just not at the same time.

Thumbs down for me. Anytime I see it, I wonder what they were thinking that morning...

Let's see...I love this dress. I love these jeans. Hey! Why not wear BOTH?!

I've seen the tunic combo, and it looks better than the dress-jean combo.

I bet you could pull off wearing an A-line skirt. I think that's what they are called. Where the bottom of the skirt flares out, like a bell shape. Looking at the letter 'A' I just typed makes me think that is indeed the name. You won't have that same problem of the material bunching up on you.

I wear a short skirt over leggings, but over jeans definately not. But if it works for you, go for it.
Mind you, I never wear jeans!

Lol, it's so weird that no one here likes it! I see girls all the time at my school wearing it and no one gives it a second thought. I guess it's just the style here...

I don't know about skirts over jeans, but the in-style now is the longer either tube/strapless tops that come to about mid-thigh length over jeans. (if you can picture this) I think this is really, really cute. Pair it with strappy, colorful sandals and you have a fun, funky and hip summer look!

I don't think people are really wearing skirts over jeans. Alot of girls wear Tunics, which are long shirts, that can either have long sleves, short sleves, be a tank top, or even a tube top. Even a strapless dress that has a short hem. But I have NEVER seen any one wearing a skirt with jeans.

Nope, I'm talking about actual skirts. There's one girl who constantly wears jeans, a striped green skirt, and a darker green shirt. Definitely not a tunic.

Last year, skirts over jeans were a big thing. I did it all the time in early
fall, but quickly retired it when I saw the preppies stealing the style.
That's the only rule of thumb you need to know when deciding whether to
retire a style :P since they are all mindless sheep...
