long haired man formal hairstyle

Hello all
    I am a long haired male aged 26. my hair is just above my elbow. I usually have my hair in pony tail. I have an occasion coming up, in which i am supposed to wear a suit. It is quite formal and professional. It is not a corporate function. It is like a cultural meet. I am kind of confused and thinking about the hairstyle that would go well with the suits. I just want to look clean and formal. I am a tall and lean guy with a dark complexion with thick black long hair. I welcome any suggestions.

I know this post was sometime ago, but I would have recommended either a single French braid with the tail tucked up or a french roll.
