Nails signal overall health.

Nutrient rich foods help grow strong nails.  Damaged nails can be an outward signal of your overall health and can indicate where you may be lacking in the nutrition department.

Nutrient-rich foods enables your body to grow long and healthy nails without dents, white spots, or hang nails.

Listed below are the five foods you should eat regularly to grow healthy nails:
  1. Salmon: Omega-3s helps fight against a protein deficiency, which can make your nails brittle.
  2. Cashews: High in zinc, eating cashews in trail mix or as a quick snack will prevent white spots in your nails.
  3. Beans: Legumes and lentils have lots of biotin, a fatty acid complex that strengthens nails.
  4. Dark leafy greens: Kale, collard greens, and chard are just a few sources high in vitamin A and C, which are great for healthy nails.
  5. Whole wheat: Start eating sprouted grain bread, buckwheat, and other variants of grain, because it contains selenium, a key mineral needed for healthy nails.

Take a excellent appearance at your nails. The color and the marks on the same can expose many things about your health to the trained eye. To the inexperienced eye like that of yours, the brittle edges are a statement of the personal you are conducting on your nails.

Biting Nails
Two golden-agers were discussing their husbands over tea.

"I do wish that my Elmer would stop biting his nails. He makes me terribly nervous."

"My Billy used to do the same thing," the older woman replied. "But I broke him of the habit."

"How?"

"I hid his teeth."

Thanks for sharing these tips. My nails are bit thin and breaks easily. So I will surely try to implement this.

This may sound crazy, but exercise helps. One thing that causes nail chipping is stress. The best way to get rid of stress of exercise. So try it.

Coat your nails with a polish or ridge filler to protect them at least till the manicure lasts. and always wear gloves on your hands to protect nails when doing household chores like washing clothes or utensils as your nails might break when exposed to harsh chemicals.

Make sure you apply a thin coat. Because you'll be applying it daily you don't want it to build up too much. If you're at the very beginning stages of growing out your nails only use a strengthener and growth formula on your nail plate and apply it every day. Once your nails start to protrude, and you want to apply nail polish, use the strengthener and growth formula as a base coat and as a top coat.  Karen Shelton2013-11-28 02:26:13
