Help!!

Please help!! Does anyone know what products work to curl hair. I have long thin hair but wheneevr I try to curl my hair the curls just drop out! I had my hair styled for a friends wedding & suprisingly the curls stayed in until the next day.
What are the best curling irons/products to use????
