I've been trying to grow my hair for at least 9 years now, and have had no luck. I've also been trying to maintain my curls, which has gone well until recently. I went to a stylist about a month ago, and although I requested him to style it curly, he styled it straight as a board. I don't know if it was the amount of heat he used, but I CANNOT get it to go back as curly as it was. I've tried at least 3 different products since then,  and NOTHING is working. Any suggestions on how to get my curls back?

Also, my hair has been thinning for several years now, and I'm not sure if it's due to stress or highlighting, but it's driving me crazy. I've been using Biolage shampoo and conditioner for the past year for my thin and very dry hair, b/c I was told it works great for dry hair. I think my hair has gotten used to this product, though, and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. Any ideas on conditioning shampoos and conditioners? And, how often should you get your hair highlighted? How damaging is this process?

Lastly, I don't use a lot of heat on my hair, and I never straighten it. The only time my hair comes in contact with heat is when I'm laying out or if I use a blow dryer (normally I let it air dry and use a blow dryer for like 2 minutes to add volume). How much heat is too much for my thinning, brittle hair?

Since I'm very new to this forum, I would appreciate an suggestions.

Thanks

just thought I can help make a suggestion. Some of my older patients use Organic Deesse by Estella Jin. They carry an all organic formula spray that has protective and regrowing properties, maybe you can give it a try if you are out of options. My hair grew thicker and healthier which 3-4x application per day after about 1 month of use.

good luck Abbey.

eat a diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables. Would like to suggest some homemade remedies. Apply creamy mashed 1/4 avocado and 1/4 banana paste and massage into the scalp and throughout hair, cover with a shower cap and allow to soak for 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual to reveal thicker hair along with a healthy scalp to prevent brittle hair growth.

try it out...Abbey

DC's (USN and FTS) do the work necessary for damage control, ship stability, firefighting, fire prevention, and chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) warfare defense. They also instruct personnel in the methods of damage control and CBR defense, and repair damage control equipment and systems.

Please don't worry, you know your thin hair may be caused by stress.

Try Queen Helene's Cholestrol Deep Conditioning Cream for dry hair.  The Best shampoo and conditioner that works for me is pantene pro-v.
