Hey.  Female hair loss is kind of tricksy...you should first go to a doctor to get a whole lot of blood work done.  They need to see if you have low iron levels, if your thyroid is OK, and I think they also run other tests to see if you have an illness causing it.

Whats your hair loss pattern like? Is it diffuse, or is it more male-pattern baldness style (receeding hair line, bald spot) ?  Do you have scalp problems (like flaking, inflammation) ?

Laser hair treatments have been FDA approved in the US, but you have other options. Minoxidil can be used.  Although the 2% is marketed to women, women often use the 5% with better results (although you run a higher risk of getting unwanted facial hair).

lysine and biotin also help hair loss in some people; some women report that melatonin helps.  If you're doing chemical things to your hair, you should probably chill out on those for a while.

If its hormone-driven, minoxidil and possibly an oral medication (spironolactone, finasteride, dutasteride, some forms of birth control) could help. It could also be medication or drug-induced.

If its stress (telegon effluvium), you may need to use a tranquilizer for a while and also try minoxidil and possibly something else--like a topical corticosteroid for inflammation--to maximize your regrowth.

Chemicals rarely cause hair loss, but they don't exactly help, either. Don't use chemicals on an inflamed/sensitive scalp. Patch test before applying chemicals to your hair. If you use a chemical relaxer, you might want to stop--those can actually sometimes cause permanent hair loss thru chemical burns and intense scalp inflammation/scalp scarring.

So...get to a good doctor, soon!  And..good luck!

Don't rub your hair too vigorously with a towel, either. Many hair experts suggest you consider putting away the blow dryer and air-drying your hair instead. If you can't live without your blow dryer, try using it on a low heat setting. Style your hair when it's dry or damp. Styling your hair while it's wet can cause it to stretch and break. And try to avoid teasing your hair, which can also cause damage. Finally, be careful when using chemicals - such as straightness or color - on your hair.

Hair tend to fall after gaining full length and new ones grow. But excessive hair-loss is a real problem.

It is natural for hair to stop growing after a certain period. Depending on the conditions of an individual, the lower part of, the hair gland gets withers or dries up, the old strand of hair is severed from the pore. This process of severance from the pores is known as falling of hair but the fallen hair is replaced by the growth of new hair.

If you are using chemicals on your hair. Condition that hair, condition, and condition, and keep it moisturized.  The best moisturizers that works for me is Jojoba Oil and Lusters Pink Oil Moisturizer.  I put it on my scalp and hair, and it works wonders for dryness.  But if yo uhave to use a blow dryer than use a heat protectant spray like from Treseme.  It is really good for your hair.

Tips to Make Hair Grow Faster

Although many experts say there is no way to accelerate the growth of hair, there are several home remedies that people have used and passed down from generation to generation asserting that they do make hair grow faster. And the only way to find out if it works or not is testing it. A trick that does not fail is being pregnant with a baby boy, your hair will grow so fast! However, since this tip is not very practical, here are others.

Onion: Add minced onion to your shampoo. Let stand for fifteen days and use the shampoo regularly. Not only will it accelerate hair growth but it will give your hair glacial shine.

Another one with onion: Cut a red onion in half, add four cloves of garlic and two cinnamon sticks. Put everything in a pot and bring to a boil for 15 minutes. Rinse hair with this infusion for four days in a row.

Grapeseed oil: Grapeseed oil is believed to enhance hair growth. Give your scalp a massage using this oil before bedtime.

Reflexology: With hands in a semi fist, place the fingernails of each hand towards each other and buff nails against each other briskly back and forth for five minutes everyday.

Birth Control Pills: Grind four or five birth control pills and add them to your regular shampoo. home-remedies-site.com Not only will your hair grow faster but also healthier and more abundant.

moonSleeping with braids: Before going to bed at night wash your hair. Tie your hair in two braids while it

Hi,
Laser therapy is a good option. It stimulates the hair follicles and promotes regrowth. However it may take a long time for you to notice results.
Also, Minoxidil is very good for regrowth. It is available as a 2% solution for women.

I think it is worth it to splurge money on that kind of treatment. It is better to do something about it before it's too late.

The truth?  There is no fast cure for hair loss.  There is also no fast hair growth secret.  If someone tells you that there is...question it.  After 15+ years in the hair biz I have never seen anything that is an overnight cure except buying a wig or getting hair extensions.

There are products that can strengthen your hair but that's about it, nothing for hair loss.
