Hey! Truthfully I don't  know anything about the laws in the U.K. , but here we have cross-dressers everywhere. I would assume if you were allowed to walk down the street in womens clothes and make-up, then the hair salon wont have any rules against it. If they do it's discrimination.  I think a hair salon should make you feel as comfortable as possible and help you explore different sides of yourself. So if that is how you feel when you are there then they are doing a good job.  Do they also do facials and make-up? Maybe you could ask them for some make-up tips?

Hi happy abi!  It really sounds like you want to experiment with a new lifestyle.  Why don't you just call the salon and tell them you are a man who wears ladies clothes and ask how welcome the receptionist feels you would be at this salon.  You can call several, and go to the one you think was the most open and friendly.  If you make an appointment, they would be expecting you, and that should make sure you have a nice comfortable experience.  I agree with Rachel though, even if you went any random salon on the street, it would be wrong of them to discriminate against you.

Thanks for the reply 20/05 Susan W (Elite member I see) following your advise I made calls to a hand full of beauty salons and of which two seemed very willing to help set my hair whilst dressed as a lady I went and made appointment for the 23^rd for a wash and set on rollers (perm rods to be exact), I walked into salon and said I had for appointment for a wash and set giving my name and appt time. I did not feel a bit nervous much to my amazement, not even when a lady called over smiling, we won
