Jim Jones Competes With Jay-Z, Readies 'Harlem's American Gangsta'
In an attempt to cash in on the buzzing Frank Lucas and Nicky Barnes gangster films, "Mr. Untouchable" and "American Gangster," Dipset's Jim Jones is dropping an album like Jay-Z, but his is called Harlem's American Gangsta.
Hot 97's gossip queen, Miss Info, recently revealed that Jones is preparing the release of a mixtape-style album, which he says he cooked up in six days. It will be free, will feature new material by Juelz Santana and is hosted by Dame Dash.
Just like Jay-Z Frank Lucas-inspired album, American Gangster, Jones says he wants his piece of the madness, but revealed that he could care less about either of the former drug kingpins.
"Nicky Barnes and Frank Lucas was both snitches, so neither one of them were real American Gangsters to me," Jones told Miss Info.
Jones' Harlem's American Gangsta will hit the streets the same day as Jay-Z's American Gangster, and one day before the anticipated return of his Dipset brother, Cam'ron, and his comeback tape, Public Enemy #1.
