If anyone has a moment to add some comments here, I was hoping ya;ll could give me the benefit of your experience with Great Lengths Hair Extensions.

I was just hoping to get some tips and pointers on what you found to be the best ways to care for these type of extensions at home and how you keep them looking their aboslute best ... while maintaining the health of your own hair as well.

Thanking you all in advance for your help!

Just don't keep them in over 3 or 4 months.....I did and it was a mess... my hair that is. It's great hair.....but since I started doing my own.....wayyyyyyy cheaper.
GL is just way over priced for hair that has to be redone every few months....but.......if ya got the money and that's not an issue.....YES I would have GL again.
Look up old threads on how to care for extentions.....the same rules apply to most extentions.

My two friends had them, and they both liked them. The hair lasted them both a long while about four months total. I don't think they got them again because the pricing is so high. They liked the hair though but they couldn't use it again the stylist told them.

Thank you for your input!

Because I am reasonably new to extensions (have only had one other install done) I am going to spend the $$$.

From thereonin, I certainly hear ya about the crazy cost of Great Lengths.  I went to a consult at another salon in town and they use "Secret Strands" which cost about $1200 to $1400 (Canadian Dollars) for a full head.  She did put three 'trial' strands in of the 'secret strands' and they don't feel as nice of hair as GL.  That would be the only difference that I can tell at this point.  Stylist SAYS that "Secret Strands" is like the less expensive option of GLs, but I'm still not sure what to believe.  Not a huge amount of info about them out there.

Great Lengths cost alot but they are a great product. I have yet to have a single complain about the quality of GL hair. I guess like most things you get what you pay for. As far as home care, use a non-sulfate shampoo, avoid getting conditioner on the bonds, dont sleep with bonds wet, brush your hair alot with a looper brush if you have one and most importantly dont keep them in too long. I tell my clients 3 months MAX less is better.
Enjoy Them
