homecoming

My hair is above my shoulders, but below my chin. I have homecoming at the end of october, and I want my hair done in an up do. However, my hair is kind of short for an up do, and when I use a curling iron, becasue my hair is thin and short, the curls look stupid. What should I do with my hair????
