How often do you moisturize your hair and what products do you use?

I usually moisturize once a day, at night before bed.  I'm using Oyin's Whipped Pudding right now and I love it.  It smells like chocolate.....ingredients are: shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, pure aloe vera gel and spring water.  I also use unrefined shea butter, olive oil and castor oil occasionally for my ends.

I'm thinking about buying some jojoba oil, olive butter or avocado butter.

That's a great combo.  Let me know how the whipped shea is.  I've been wondering about it.  It sounds really good.  I just ordered the Qhemet Biologics sample pack so I will be trying that out soon.

Hmm...... moisture???   I don't know, for the past six weeks I've been wearing either twists or braids to keep from combing my hair.

I wash my hair in braids/twists and let them dry in braids/twists.

I've been avoiding  combing my hair b/c I have no moisturizer! lol  I ran out of my jojoba oil and have been hard up for something ever since.

But anyways..... I went to Walgreens yesterday lookin' for a substitute (Castor Oil)  but they didn't have any.  But they did have Flax Seed Oil.

I never tried it before but I figure oil is oil, right?  Also its rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.  I don't know if that means anything for my hair but Im gonna give a shot none the less.

i spritz daily with my glycerin/water/aloe juice/eo mixture. At nite i oil my hair and scalp with either my rosemary oil/coconut oil mixture or treat my ends with castor oil.

I also have evening primrose oil, apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil , grapeseed oil and jamaica black castor oil on hand.

I moisturize morning and night alternating between one of my oils (Carol's Daughter or L'Occitane) and Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter and Jane Carter Nourish & Shine.  I also keep a small jar of Healthy Hair Butter at my desk for touch up's during the day (it's very dry in the office).

Once a day if I remember. I do it in the morning when I do my hair. I use Elasta QP Mango butter or a homemade recipe using shea butter, conditioner, jojoba oil, and aloe vera gel.

It's a great product line.  I've liked everything i've tried there.  I suggest getting the sample pack if you decide to buy from there.  The whipped pudding is my fave.  It has great moisture and it dosen't revert my hair to curly when I'm wearing it straight.

It's an oil extracted from the fat of the emu bird.  It has Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.  There are many benefits from this oil including  hair growth.  Here's some info if you'd like to read up on it.....http://www.emu-oil.com/whatis.htm

Let see, every morning and night I either use my 100% Natural Shea Butter, Elasta QP Mango Butter, Kemi Oyl, Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in, mixture of Lavender/Almond/Advocado oil, ORS Olive Oil Lotion.

Now I dont use them all together but if I feel that I need some extra moisture thats when the Natural Shea Butter comes in handy, the Mango butter is for my ends, Kemi Oyl is for whenever or if I am using heat, and so on. I only use small amounts though LOL. HTH

For me ,, moisture is sooo important,, I do it about
vevery other night ( dont want myhair too weighed
down),, sometimes more often and i still
dont feel as though I have found the absolute best
moisture product for the relaxed portions of my hair,,
they still get pretty dry sometimes (shouldve
stopped relaxing long ago) anyway I use Organic
Safflower oil,, its really good stuff, i sort of massage
it into my hair esp the ends,, its very rich in EFA's
even richer than olive oil,, i also find that I can just
use my pink heat protectant Fantasia spray which is
full of silicones,, i find it very moisturizing,, my hair
relies on silicones,, i was addicted to serums for
years but they didnt moisturize,, i alsouse Phyto 9 for
days that I dont want my hair to be weighed down at
all becuz u dont notice this stuff at all except for the
moisture as u might with oils,, and last i use the flat
iron!! if my hair is feeling a bit dry or rough i just run
the iron over it sometimes and the heat and maybe
the ceramic just seems to moisturize it and it feels
healthy,, i try not to use it when idont have to
though....cookiesnkream38674.8475347222

Hmmm.....I'm not too sure about melting the shea butter.  The few times I tried to make shealoe I melted it in the microwave and it never came out quite right.  I've heard of a lot of people using a double broiler to melt theirs but I haven't tried that.  I think it's best not to melt it all the way, just enough to make it soft and add the other oils in.

I got my Qhemet and I love it!  The Amla and Olive heavy cream is wonderful.  It has a thick creamy consistency and its so moisturizing.  It made my hair sooo soft, shiny and smooth.  I fell in love with this.  I love the Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm also.  It has kind of a "grease" consistency but it's not heavy.  I got the sample pack but I haven't tried the other two products yet.  Yes, she has a new shampoo bar that i've heard good reviews on but I haven't tried it.  I wish I could get a sample of that before I buy the whole bar because my hair is kinda weird about shampoo bars.  Her products are definitely worth the money though.  If anyone's interested......http://www.qhemetbiologics.com/conditioners.php

Why was the whipped shea not meant for you?

Hey Jaz!  I hope you like Qhemet.  Let me know how it works for your hair.  I love the Amla and Olive cream, it makes my hair feel so smooth and moist .  Amla is great for hair growth and making the hair strong, especially at the roots.  I'm thinking of just getting some plain Amla oil next.  I haven't tried the Honeybush soft gel yet but I should be trying it soon.  I really want to try all of her products now.  Maybe I'll splurge one day.

It didn't take long for my order at all.  Before I knew it, it was at the door.  Maybe 2 weeks but I'm not sure.
