Heya Everyone,

My name is Tim Miles, I'm from South Wales in the UK and i have a few questions maybe some could help me with :)

Ever since i started liking Rock Music i have wanted my hair black,

I recently decided to dye it Black (Semi perminent) and it turned out black but not the black i was after. My problem is it is dark but you can still see my natural darkish brown colour when the light is on it. When light isn't on it, it looks black.

I want to dye my hair perminent black because i then no it will look proper black....i have been told that it looks very un natural....this isn't what i'm worrying about, i'm worrying about the consequences of dying it a perminent colour......My skin is pale and i have blue eyes and my hair at the moment with the black colour suits me fine so a permanent would suit me....it's just if i ever wanted to change my color from black to my natural colour would it be very difficult?

my hair is also long like the typical rock music loving person and i wouldn't want to risk it falling out. Can anybody giv me some advice on what to do and give me some help in allowing me to imagine what permanent would look like.

NEED HELP urgently

Thanks very much all:D:D

Tim.

im no color expert but the common black i see rockstars having is a 'blue-black' which is an extreme jet form of black..which can be bought from most super markets etc..that will give you jet black with a tinge of blue hair..but ive seen aload of rockstars with that colour..i had it once too, its extremely striking and with your blue eyes should certainly make an impression on people, good or bad

my hair was very dark brown to begin with and yeh the blue black dye did the trick..

just a thought, im sure that if you want a regular black colour of hair, getting it done professionally in the hair dresser should give u some pleasing results rather than doing it at home..if u are doing it at home, make sure ur leaving the dye in for long enough! with regards to changing it back...i was initially gonna suggest that if u dont like it, cut it! but as u say u have long hair, i can imagine thats your worst nightmare..hence be careful

you dont wanna chemically damage your hair which will result it in becoming rather unmanageable..after home dying my hair, i always find it feels rather synthetic for the next couple of weeks till it recovers..dying it a permanent black and then dying it back could damage it slightly + IT IS VERY UNLIKELY YOU'LL BE ABLE TO RETURN TO YOUR exact NATURAL COLOUR..

good luck!

Thanks very much for the advice! :D

I was thinking about it and because i have used a semi color, i was told i could dye black semi on top of the already dyed semi and it would make it a deeper black.

Im willing to giv it ago:D

Thanks:D

if you dyed ur hair again with a semi, or even a demi (think natural instincts) it should deepen the color. and keep in mind, when you dye darker demi acts as permanent as a perm. color. it should give you the long lasting results your lookin for, without all of the damage.

Heya Guys!

I just wanna ask a few more questions.........

I have just washed my hair for the first time since i dyed it and the difference in colour is very noticeable, ealier today it was black it is now dark brown.....

I used head and shoulders

Pantenne Conditioner

my hair is now dark brown and i don't like it this color i like it black....

If i were to dye it semi on top of semi would it look black still after the firs few washes.....or should i just go straight to perminent as i do like this color and want it as my color for some time....however not for long long periods and one time i would like it removed but then i know the damages of this.

Could you guys give me some major help and advice on like the pros and cons of using each and what you would recomend.

Thanks so much!:D:

keep up with the semi, especially if you want to remove it later. i would also like you to remove the head and shoulders shampoo from your routine. this is a shampoo that people use when they are trying to strip semi permanent dye out of the hair. hth

its a shampoo that puts color onto the hair. most people use them in cases like yours where their desired color is fading out of the hair. these shampoos deposit small ammouts of color gradually over time. they would be a good option for you. you could probably call local salons and see if they have them in black.

Heya Again Guys.....I'm Dying my hair later on with a semi permanent.....

However just wanted to ask a few questions incase it didn't turn out how i want it.....Firstly I'm into rock music so id like the typical rock look......Blue black is the normal colour rock peeps dye their hair and i was wondering whether...if i dyed my hair jet black then decided i wanted to try blue black would blue black show up over the jet black (this is if i dyed it permanent) thats my first que

my second question is about the pictures im going to include...i want my Hair Like Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance....not with the parting etc just the color but i can't tell whether is black with just light shining on it or whether its blue black.....So could you take a look for me please:D

Also would blue black be easier to remove then black if it didn't suit or harder......

So to some up the questions:

1.) Would blue black show up over jet black if i decided i wanted to dye my hair blue black after i had dyed it permanent black...

2.) What color is Gerard Ways hair in the picture?

3.) Would Blue Black be easier to remove?

and if any of you guys have any other information youd like to share with me please let me know!:D:D:D

Thanks very Much again.....

P.s The Pictures are Below....

that is as i said very definately blue black...and blue black is a stronger form of jet black..its permanent but nice and stiking...

if you didnt like it, you can go get it changed at the hairdresser with a bit of effort

Thanks Nick.....If i dyed it blue black and didn't like it would a standard jet black dye over it to turn it less blue black? or would it remain with a blue tint.

Thanks very much again:D

I understand that the blue-black tends to fade to regular black over a period of weeks, anyway.

yeh when my hair was blue black i think it remember it looking less and less striking over a couple of weeks..i might add people really liked it, and i feel it looked better before it faded...

its a wintery colour however and i did it just before the summer so some of my friends told me i should have done it in the winter time!

Heya Guys....

Just dyed my hair black semi on top of the old semi and it loookss awsummm....The way im gunner decided whether to use permanent is how fast it fades... i have like a fancy dress gig at the local pub and im gunner go with the  hai, thats in 15 days so well see how much it has faded and decide then as you well know spending money on two boxes of hair dye t get the color i want each time wud work out very costy.. Will post some pictures later on:)

Thanks for all your help...I have one more que tho lol prob not the last...

If i decided that i wanted to dye my hair permanent before this gig in 15...could i dye it permanent over the semi inabout 15 days time if it has faded alot or little it depends...

I would dye blue black over it....so i was wondering whether it would look ok and work or not....

it should work out ok. the semi permanent dye has no peroxide in it, so it has not opened the hair cuticle. this means that there is no damage. if you do it permanent with the blue black, the blue will fade after a while. resist the temptation to do the whole head over again with permanent blue black dye. this will cause damage to the hair. instead, retouch the new growth only with plain old black dye, being careful not to overlap onto alrady dyed hair. then get a semi permanent blue dye and do the whole head. this will avoid getting the overprocessed fried hair that is so common with at home dye jobs.
