Hey Trix,

As promised, I posted my new article on Acupuncture & hair loss treatments. As always, I had to control myself because I could have written 4xs the amount but I decided to try and stick to a brief version that discussed hair loss and hair related issues.

Now when people email me and ask if H37 & HairTopia will grow hair anywhere but their heads, I can point them to the article that explains why they don`t. :-)

I would love some feedback on this topic. It is definitely an alternative treatment for hair. :-)

Best wishes,
Karen

Hi GG,

A lot of people are squeamish about the needle concept when I tell them about it. It really doesn`t hurt at all and trust me, I am not fond of any unnecessary pain. :-) My business partner in my software company has terrible sinus problems. My acupunturist told me that he could help with the problems and yet my partner will not even consider the concept because of the needles. So I do understand.

Thanks for the feedback.

Best wishes,
Karen

Hi Celia,

Maybe I am just getting crabbier as I get older but I have learned to just say no to some things. My current doctors (including my thyroid specialist) have learned that if something doesn`t seem right to me, I just tell them so. Also, I am one to say, hey...I am not willing to spend xyz. What can we accomplish for a little less?

The first time I talked back to my thyroid specialist (a cute little Hungarian doctor about 70) he looked shocked but now he listens to what I tell him and we have compromised on a few things (mainly testing) but I feel that I get better care overall.

I would suggest that you go for a consult and if the number of treatments sounds high or too much for your pocketbook, tell them that you are on a limited budget and ask what they can work out for you. If you REALLY need x number of treatments, they will probably tell you but may work out some sort of prepayment or cash payment discount plan. Or they may say, well insurance might pay part or we can scale back the number of treatments, etc.,

I have found most really good doctors and professionals to be willing to work things out if they believe that the patient needs the care and it is not just quick cash for them.

But then again...I could just be getting crabbier. :-)

Best wishes,
Karen

Hi Thomas,

Good point. Yes, accupressure massage can be used in place of acupuncture needles and achieve similar results. I know there are lots of opinions about this but accupressure using just the fingers to apply pressure to the same meridian points is a great "needle free" option.

Best wishes,
Karen

Day late and so on, but....
acupuncture is an amazing therapy.
No pain, and my experience was 1 treatment - to relieve the pain of a spasmed back muscle. As for hair growth....well, with only one treatment who knows. I read the article too - very nice.
Just my .02
