Gone!!!!!!!

That is the only way to describe what my hair is. Why? I don`t know really, I guess because I thought having short hair like everyone else was better than having beautiful, blonde hair down to my waiste that I have been growing for years and have never recieved anything but compliments on. I mean I wanted it done, stupid me walks into the salon and asks to have my hair chopped into a chin length straight across SHORT cut that I can do nothin with but leave down. I can`t pull it back, I can do basically nothing. It will takeprobobly months to reach my shoulders again, altought all that means is I will look like more people. I was very popular too, and I`m sure this will effect it. Almost no one has even seen it yet and I think I`m gonna drop out of school for a few years. When I saw the hair on the floor it was like I went into shock, and I am still very upset, and probobly will be for a while. Don`t cut your long hair, despite what people on this board tell you, it is not better than long hair, just more ordinarry.

Girl, I know what you mean. This was a long time ago, but I had hair down to the middle of my back. I cut it as short as 2 inches above my chin! I hated it. The only real advice that I can give you is this: Work with what you`ve got. Put cute clips in your hair, curl it, get a couple layers put in, maybe even try a new color. All of those can really pull the look together. But, like you said, it will take a while to grow out. So just try and be patient, and don`t worry about your social status. You`ll survive.

ur not stupid!!! ok u tried something different that didn`t turn out like u had hoped. ur hair is still beautiful only shorter. look we`ve all done something like this...me, i let my mom talk me ino getting a spiral perm and now 7 months later my hair is shorter than urs but i`m getting rid of the perm slowly . my hair was almost to my bra strap and now the front is above my chin and the back is shorter with a slightly inverted nape. my hair has never been this short but i want have to deal with the perm soon since only a little is still left. and i just got my haircut after school on wednesday so u see i to have to start over.
ok, christmas break has started and u probably want go back to school for 2 weeks so work with ur hair and have so fun with it. hey as much as i didn`t like my perm after 2 weeks i got use to it. at least my hair wasn`t fried and damaged. trust me it will get better.

I`m about to cut off my hair that is down to my thigh, do you think I will regret it. Will getting to cut my friends hair too help, (if I do I will have to keep mine short for a year), so I need to know if its worth it. What don`t you like abou short hair, and why was your long hair so important? I know I value mine but I feel I am ready to get rid of it.

Yes, it will grow back, but in my case it will probobly take 4 years or more and by that time i will be 21, and may not want to grow it all back, so the descision is prewtty big cause it will take so long and so much patience to grow this long again.

There is no reason why you should go and cut your hair off short. I am sure that you look absolutely amazing with your hair that long and bet that you get tons of admiration and affection from the boys! Don`t be in a rush to cut your hair short, there is plenty of time to do that in the future. If you still enjoy having your hair really long, then I say keep it until you are sure you want something shorter.

How can you say it doesn`t look good, I think it looks good on me, and many other girl look good with long hair reguardless of age, its just I might be ready for a change that hopefully will look just as good.

Well, i`m only gonna have super long hair for another day anyway. Its gonna be all gone anyway so any of the features I`m hiding will come out I guess.

I use to have long blonde hair down to my butt! And I cut it because my friends said the look was getting old/ and I should try somthing new. And I agreed! I was such a damn fool! And now I have almost sholder leg- hair/ and its taking forever to grow back. Im even thinking about just cutting it all off. I know how you feel. I felt alot sexyer and hidden behind my long hair/ and now I just sink in with the crowd........I know its not the end of the world. Im just glad Im home schooled lol

If there is some crazy lunatic out there who doesn`t like you anymore because you don`t have long hair, then you need to realise that they didn`t acctually like YOU in the first place!!
Cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it(and get some real friends)!
If you want your hair long again, then you`ll just have to be patient and let it grow.
Until then, you`ll just have to live with having short hair...give it a chance, you might acctually like it.

Hey I can`t believe this post actually came up again. Anyway its 6 months later, and although I still feel Stupid for cutting my long hair (hence no name change), I realize that it was pretty dumb of me to say it would effect my popularity. It has made me sort of stand out less from my friends but people who did like me still do, and people who didn`t still don`t. My hair is now just past my shoulders, I havn`t been to a salon yet since then, I got the ends trimmed twice by my friend because I am afraid the stylist will not understand that I want as little hair as possible cut off. I have gotten used to short hair a little bit, I can now pull it back although compared to what I used to have the ponytails are pretty pathetic, but I am going to keep growing it until it reaches my waste again, then I think I`m gonna have some big party or something.

Woah. Can`t we cool down this thread? Let`s just say Stupidtocut learned a lesson
in popularity and drastic changes and leave her alone. Glad to hear it`s past your
shoulders, dear.You were smart to get the ends trimmed by your friend. Long haired
people should generally avoid Hair salons like the plague in my opinion. Whoever feels
like cutting their hair at a certain stage of growing out, I encourage you to bear
with it. Put it up nicely (good chance to learn how to roll a neat bun if you don`t
know already. If you don`t like how your roughly collar-length growing out hair looks
perhaps you could curl (NOT perm!!!) it, part it in the middle, put it behind your ears,
and pull back the curls on each side with a barette more or less vertically worn behind
each temple (a style I believe was worn in the 1930s, I had a girl in a class who wore
her hair like that) until it grows longer. As for the pixie advice, please! How could that
"neaten it up while it grows" - it`ll just get shorter (and probably less "neat") and
eventually grow back to the length that was annoying you.

PS: Just a personal guy`s aesthetic opinion, but I think pixies look mannish and scruffy.

Whats wrong with a pixie? i think you`re the kinda guys girls hate coz u treat them like meat. girls can wear their hair ANY way they want and look beautiful. ugh your ignorance makes me SO mad.
